Enjoy our performance of “So Long” in Hales Corner, WI on the “Tear Down These Walls Tour” with Manic Drive!

NfV Blog #5 - “Tear Down These Walls Tour”

My apologies for not blogging in a while. In the time away News from has traveled across the country continuing to play shows opening for Manic Drive. Our most recent show was in Yuba City, California near Sacramento. Tonight we had a show that the promoter didnt even have us on the bill, but we still got to open with a 4 song set. Our next show with Manic Drive will be on February 9th in Washington. Until then we are just chilling in San Francisco with the guys from Eden Records. On Sunday we will be finding a place to enjoy some football, and then its back to work heading north for more shows.

Day 4- “Tear Down These Walls Tour”

After an 8 hour drive from Wisconsin to Missouri we reached our next destination on the tour, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. None of us had ever been on an army base, and they made the experience worthwhile! First off, the number of volunteers willing to help with set up and tear down was incredible, and the process went super quick. Chad, Josh, and I led an acoustic worship set on Sunday morning for 1,200 soldiers and it was a very moving experience. Then there was also a show that night for families and civilians on base to enjoy. Overall the whole FLW experience was amazing!

Day 2- “Tear Down These Walls Tour”

(1/7/10) Hales Corner, WI - After a good nights sleep and a continental breakfast, we returned to the Church and continued to ready ourselves for the concerts. Around 2:45 we played a 3 song set to try to get some kids to come back later for the night show! The show was a success to say the least! Around 7 we played our full set for this tour, and it was incredible! Its amazing how much better good sound and a lights show makes a concert!! Oh and the coolest part for me was being able to see yourself on the big projector screens like you see at bigger concerts! That was a new concept! All in All, day 2 of the tour and the tour kickoff show was a huge success for all 3 bands! However, loading the trailer tonight in 0 degree weather was not fun!! Tomorrow is a driving day to Missouri where i assume it will be warmer than it is here! I will let you know!

Day 1- “Tear Down These Walls” Tour

Day 1 of our tour with Manic Drive was a success. Today was a rehearsal date learning how to unload and set up the light and sound setups we will be using for the tour spanning the next two months. Needless to say, we will be able to do this in our sleep by the end of the tour! haha. But the day’s setup went very well, and sound check sounded incredible. Tomorrow is the first show on tour, which they say we can expect a crowd of 800-900 people! We will be playing two shows tomorrow, so we’ll see how it goes!
